Down the Rabbit Hole of Money

I've been working with some women through BodyTalk and conversation around bringing the light of consciousness to our financial health. It has thrown me down the rabbit hole (you will notice the photo on the left is me upside down in the rabbit hole!) of my own financial consciousness and got me looking at what is underneath all this money stuff.  I see self worthiness issues, self sabotaging, wanting to hide, play small and a vast array of uncomfortable "stuff"! With my clients, I witness the restriction that many women and men feel when it comes to their relationship to money and the way they want to live their lives.  The experience of witnessing the ecology being damaged because of the economy is also an imbalance that affects all life. How can we create an economy that supports life, that supports the very foundation of life itself? I know, I know, that's a HUGE question.

The beliefs we consciously or unconsciously hold about money dramatically affects our relationship to our physical environment and our lifestyle. In our culture, money affects the way we eat, spend our time, and the way we experience our lives whether we like it or not.  Whether we approve of the way the financial system is operating or not, we are affected by it.  How can we tune up our bodymind system to function in healthy balance with this vast human made system? Well, I'm determined to evolve myself into balance with it so it doesn't have to be an energy leak in my life. I am passionate about helping others to be in balance with this aspect of life also.

George Kinder, father of the Life Planning Movement asks these questions when supporting people to create a financial foundation that supports their deepest values:

  1. Imagine you are financially secure, that you have enough money to take care of your needs, now and in the future. How would you live your life? Would you change anything? Let yourself go. Don’t hold back on your dreams. Describe a life that is complete and richly yours.
  2. Now imagine that you visit your doctor, who tells you that you have only 5-10 years to live. You won’t ever feel sick, but you will have no notice of the moment of your death. What will you do in the time you have remaining? Will you change your life and how will you do it? (Note that this question does not assume unlimited funds.)
  3. Finally, imagine that your doctor shocks you with the news that you only have 24 hours to live. Notice what feelings arise as you confront your very real mortality. Ask yourself: What did you miss? Who did you not get to be? What did you not get to do?

What needs to be "cleaned up" in your financial life? What does freedom mean to you? Are you living in a way where your financial reality is supporting your core values? The underlying influences around the way we experience our relationship to money is amazing to explore through BodyTalk.  Get in touch with me if you want a session to explore how you can bring your financial consciousness to the light. Distance sessions are also super duper awesome.

Keep on truckin' folks! We've got a wild ride ahead. Let's do this!

So grateful,

Christy
